Partner with an industry association to deliver a program of work that can provide unique insights into the key issues and trends impacting the automotive sector, informing members and supporting ongoing advocacy efforts.
The approach
The program of work has evolved and expanded over the life of the partnership. We currently use a combination of ad hoc surveys and existing data sources (e.g. new vehicle sales, car parc, business counts), to feed into industry reports, forecasting (e.g. EV sales and car parc growth projections), quarterly updates, magazine articles, and ad hoc queries.

The challenge
The automotive industry is facing some fundamental issues, while also undergoing generational change with the advent of new vehicle technologies. Accordingly, we engage in ongoing conversations with key industry opinion leaders to ensure the research remains topical and relevant.

The insight
Recent ad hoc projects have been focused on skills shortages, uncovering insights into the experiences of automotive apprentices, and benchmarking technician pay rates across different workshop environments. These studies have highlighted some of the unique benefits offered in the sector, as well as the value of investment in training and development when it comes to finding and retaining technicians.
